Urban Decay Brow Beater & Brow Tamer review! Before & after photos

I am ridiculously bad at brows.  No seriously, I really am.  I generally end up looking worried all day, or like Mr Spock as I strive for the perfect arch, but fail miserably.  I'd love to have the confidence to rock a really bold brow but I just can't do it.  I don't think it suits me, so Cara Delevigne is safe for now.  Despite being crap at brows, I still love trying new products be it powders, pencils or gels in the hopes that they'll make life easier and these newbies from Urban Decay have not left my face since they were sent to test a few weeks ago.  They even made it into my August favourites video, such is the love I have for them.

Say hello to Urban Decay's Brow Beater and Brow Tamer!

Housed in very fabulous metallic purple packaging, they've already set themselves apart from every other brow product I have by look alone.  Every other eyebrow product I have in my stash has black packaging, so this is a welcome change.

Urban Decay Brow Beater - €18.50

This retractable pencil is a brilliant dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and as Urban Decay is more readily available here, I can't see myself going to the effort of ordering any more Brow Wiz's online anymore.  The spooly on the end is grand for brushing my miserable little hairs into place before I get colouring in.  Who needs those adult colouring books when you have non existent brows like mine?!  For the record, I don't pluck them except for the really obvious strays underneath.

The formula is waterproof, contains vitamin E, argan oil and coconut oil, making it feel slightly softer than the Brow Wiz, but application is slightly quicker.  I use the shade Taupe and this cool toned shade is perfect for my weeny brows.  I like to attempt to create an arch and hope for the best when it comes to filling them in.  And let the record show, since using these, I haven't gone to work with wonky brows once!  This is a result my friends!

Urban Decay Brow Tamer - €18.50

The Brow Tamers are the cherry on top if you want to keep your brows in place all day. There are five shades altogether, one of which being a clear gel.  The narrow brush means that it doesn't deposit lots of colour in and around the brows, which I've had the misfortune of experiencing with brow gels that have larger brushes.  Again, I use the Taupe shade when I want a little extra somethin' somethin' on nights out or when I'm wearing heavier makeup, but if I'm going to work, the clear version does me just grand.

Brow gels add a bit more texture if you've used a pencil, making it look a bit more natural.  You can use them on their own without the pencil if you already have a nice shape and just want to keep them looking tidy.  I will never be that bridie who can lash on a bit of tinted brow gel and swan around looking gorgeous!

The Brow Beater and Brow Tamer will be on Urban Decay counters in Debenhams and House of Fraser this month and they get two arched brows up from me!
