Fear not, for I am here to show you some deadly Christmas beauty gifts that you can hopefully pick up today once you elbow your fellow last minute shoppers out of the way. You can do this! I was sent samples over the last few months and have picked out my favourites for this quick gift guide which will hopefully take some of the panic if you're a last minute shopper. This isn't sponsored, paid for or anything (you'll always know if it is as I disclose errthang). And I'm not going to include links because you're going to have to be brave and go into the actual physical shops to get these bad boys. I wish you luck. Have wine chilling in the fridge for your return.
Urban Decay Full Frontal Reloaded Vice Lipstick Stash
€75 - Debenhams & House of Fraser
Inside you get a primer pencil and five lippies. See that coral one second from the right? Yeah that's me in lipstick form. And as for 1993, the gorgeous brown shade on the right, it's creamy and grunge-tastic. The packaging is impressive and anyone who wouldn't like to get this under the tree this year, well, we can't be friends.
La Roche-Posay & Vichy skincare sets
Chemists nationwide & prices vary
If you can't face going into town, why not visit your local chemist? They've so many gift sets, skincare and otherwise and can make life so much easier for you. La Roche-Posay and Vichy skincare sets are always solid options when it comes to buying for someone else and if you don't see a set with the products you want, see if they'll make you up a gift box with products you've chosen. Or just buy the products individually and plonk them in a gift bag, birra tissue paper on the top and wish bash bosh!
Pixi gift sets
Marks and Spencer
Up until recently I'd only ever tried the Pixi Glow Tonic, not knowing that there was an entire range of products, skincare and makeup for me to try! The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Set is €24 and there's a rose gold liner in the set that's worth the €24 itself. It's a beaut. The Pixi Best of Bright Holiday Travel Trio has a mini Glow Tonic along with a mini Glow Mud Cleanser and Glow Mud Mask and at €27, it's a decent little set where you can test out three products at once. Finally the Pixi Palette Rosette is a fantastic eye and cheek kit and I love how they've put the shadows together in sections, like lid shades, contour shades, brows and highlights. It's €30 and is nice and compact (and easily wrappable too!)
If in doubt, an eyeshadow palette is always a safe option. The Clarins Essentials Eyeshadow palette is €43 and while it lacks enough pigmentation for me, Mam loves it. I gave it a go a few times and found that the shadows needed a lot of work when used dry, but when used wet the colour payoff was much better. I like my shadows with a bit more punch personally, but Mam enjoyed the lighter pigmentation and wasn't afraid to use it!
Urban Decay has two newer palettes out and they couldn't be more different! The Naked Ultimate Basics palette is €47 and is very possibly my favourite eye palette of 2016. It's a palette that would suit a lot of skin tones and those who are confident and not so confident with their makeup application will find it easy to work with. It's a neutral eye makeup lover's dream and fans of matte shadows will be really impressed with the texture of these beauts. Now, if you're buying for someone who likes to be a bit more adventurous with their eyeballs, then the Full Spectrum palette is worth checking out. It's €49 and while the shadows look really intense in the palette, when swatched they're surprisingly wearable!
The Body Shop True Romance palette is €25.50 and this was love at first swatch. They've three palettes in the range and this one is perfect for my green eyeballs, has shimmer, but not too much shimmer and is most definitely worth checking out.
Sleek Makeup Diamonds in the Rough i-Lust palette is the cheapest of the group at €10.49 and you can get Sleek in Boots. I'm not sure if it's available in selected Boots or all, but a quick check of Store Availability online will set you right. I absolutely love this palette and wore it out on my birthday last week. If you like your shimmer, then you have to give this one an aul swatch because dry, they give off tonnes of colour, wet, they're insanely pigmented. Two cream shades and four sparkly shades make up the palette and I'm getting great use out of it already!
Smashbox Light It Up Glossed to Go set - €23 - Arnotts or Boots
Smashbox do some of my favourite glosses and at a mere €23 for this set, not only do you get five full sized glosses, but they come in this psychedelic plastic container that you can totally reuse and keep it for potential makeup storage. They do great little gift sets so if your gift receiver doesn't do glosses, they've lots of different sets so hopefully you'll be able to find something.
Inglot Blackout set - €60 but at the time of this post going live, it's €50
You know I'm partial to a smokey eye all year long, but come Christmas, I like to go big or go home. The Blackout set from Inglot has an angled brush which I've used with the gel liner and also on my brows, a black kohl liner, the famous Duraline and a pair of lashes. Jaclyn Hill, eat your heart out as I'm going to be the queen of the smokey eye over Christmas!
The Body Shop Gift Sets
You can't go wrong with a gift set from The Body Shop and if you're on a budget or want to splurge, they'll have something in your price range. See that little body butter set? You could totally pick something like that up and then split it up into stocking stuffers! They've millions (ok not millions) of Christmas gifts so if you go in and come out empty handed, then I don't know what we can do with you at all at all.
L'Occitane Arlesienne collection
L'Occitane's Cherry Blossom fragrance is my all time favourite scent from the brand, followed closely by this range. Arlesienne is floral, slightly sweet and needs to smelled, trust me. You can either buy the products separately and the L'Occitane team will gift wrap it for you, or there's a set that comes in a gift box for €68. Again, they've sets for every price range and you won't have to do any wrapping, result!
L'Occitane Cologne Cedrat Collection
This one's for the boys and I'd 100% wear this myself! The Cologne Cedrat range is bright, citrusy, marine-y and I absolutely love it. They've a set for €68 or you can buy the products separately, but mark my words, you buy this for the man in your life and he'll be delighted with life as he'll smell divine and you'll be delighted with life because you'll get to keep smelling him!
Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 9 - €65.50 Arnotts
I haven't met a Liz Earle Botanical Essence I haven't liked and No 9 is warm, sweet and I'll never get to see it again because Mam has claimed ownership. It's a soft, wearable scent, that isn't overpowering and stays for ages. It's one of the safer scents from Liz Earle so if you know someone likes the brand but isn't sure of their perfume tastes, this should be a good option.
Michael Kors Wonderlust
I know it's only December but I've found my summer fragrance lads. This one is fab.u.lous darling and any time I wear this, I always have people asking what it is. Michael Kors (or Mickey Kors to me) knows how to make wearable scents and again, this would make a safe gift if you're buying for someone and you aren't sure of their perfume tastes. As you'll be in the shops giving this a whiff, you'll know what I mean when you give it a try. You can buy the bottle separately and 30ml is €59, or Arnotts have a gift set on sale for €77.40.
And that's all I got folks! Good luck and happy shopping!
