One look at my Instagram feed and you'll know that I have a bit of a gold obsession at the moment with gold props appearing in the background of my photos. And L'Oreal Paris' Color Riche Gold Obsession range is totally feeding into this love affair... I mean look at them...
I was sent these way before Christmas, I think when I'd moved out of the house for a few weeks, so in the madness that was moving back in and organising the house, they were put into a bag of things to test out and then Christmas happened. Anyway, last week I gave them a go and I'm raging I left it so long to try them out because they're gorgeous! The bullet itself has a matte finish so I was expecting them to be velvety and smooth which would have been grand, but as I've dry lips all the time, I was delighted with life to see that they'd a grand glossy finish.
I've seen these described as having a metallic finish, and while they do have slight metallic tendencies on the back of my hand, see the slight gold shimmer/glitter in them, on the lips, they are gloriously shiny and you won't have to worry about being transported back to the eighties, the time of bouffant hair and frosty lips. Phew...
Containing vitamin E and omega-3 oils, my dry lips are loving these so much. They glide on easily, feel really nourishing on, and because they're not matte, the wear time is only a couple of hours, but I can handle that.
Pink Gold Obsession is the most wearable of the three shades for me. It's a soft, pretty neutral pink with a bit of peachiness to it that has my name written all over it. This is in the handbag now for every day wear.
Plum Gold Obsession was a gorgeous surprise because I thought it was going to be way too dark for me, but I love it on! Sometimes plum shades can look a bit patchy on dry lips, but not this beaut. It's got almost a brown undertone to it and is so flattering on. Oh and it makes my teeth look whiter and eyes look greener which makes for a good plum shade for me.
Nude Gold Obsession is definitely one that would look better on me if I'd a bit of tan on, or maybe if I had a dramatic smokey eye happening. It's the least flattering of the three on my skin tone and washes me out a bit, but is just as comfortable to wear as the other two, I just won't be reaching for it as much.
There are five shades available, one being a pure gold topcoat which totally intrigues me. They're €10.49 and have the distinctive L'Oreal lipstick scent if you're wondering. Pink and Plum Gold Obsession are my absolute picks of the three!
