Maybelline Master Strobing Stick review, photos, swatches!

Sample

This isn't a new launch, but I couldn't not blog about it.  Lads, Maybelline's Master Strobing Stick has just catapulted itself to the top of my highlighter list.  It comes in two shades, light and medium and at €10.75, it's pretty reasonable and I think if you were to do one of those blind test yokeys, you'd think this was a fancy highlighting stick.  From a spendy brand.  Rhymes with FNARS.... Just saying...

I generally prefer stick cream highlights over powder ones, especially for during the day because it looks more natural on me and while I wear a decent amount of makeup at work, I don't want it to look like I do.  All about faking it!  I've been getting stuck into the light shade as I'm super pale at the moment and know when summer hits (it is going to hit isn't it??) the golden hued medium shade will be perfect.  But for now, I'm all about that pinky champagne life.

You can see in the swatches below that there's no mad chunky glitter in these.  They're nice and smooth, leaving a natural soft sheen to the skin and the best part is that they dry to a powder finish, but still look dewy.  Highlighters that stay sticky and wet drive me bananas as my hair ends up sticking to my cheekbones and that ain't a good look.

Like most other cream highlighters I've used in the past, I tend to dab it directly onto my cheekbones and use my finger or a beauty blender to blend it out.   I give it a minute to set and boom, highlight is literally on fleek.  I look healthy (even though I'm not), I look like I've nice skin (even though I don't) and I look like I know how to blend (ok I totally do know how to do that).

Maybelline's Master Strobing Sticks are on stands now, so if you feel like treating yourself come payday (let's be honest, we can't spare a tenner at this moment in time due to being paid 2.5 years ago), definitely check this out!
