Launching in February are six new additions to the Lancome Juicy Shaker family and now that I've tried these two, I feel the need to try some of the originals. If you're a fan of lip oils, this might be right up your street and around your corner.
The bi-phase oil solution mixes together when you give it a good shake and it's very satisfying altogether watching the pigmented bit amalgamate with the oily bit to become one bottle of colour. Let's talk about the oils for a minute. These guys have sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil in them and yet don't feel greasy or particularly oily on the lips. This makes me happy. Instead what you're left with is a non sticky glossy finish to your lips.
Can we take a second to talk about the sponge applicator? Yeah, I'm going to need all of my lip products to come with this type of soft, squishy cushion. I'm not going to lie, it's almost too pleasant a sensation using this on the lips. Try one and you'll be hooked as well. You may or may not be sitting in your office just having a good time using this only to get a weird look from a colleague... Just saying... After giving the Juicy Shaker a grand shake, just enough product is left in a little well where the applicator sits, so it picks up as much product as you'll need for one application. Or if you're me, you'll go back for two or three goes, just because.
I was sent two shades, both of which are very lightly fragranced and aren't very pigmented. But to be honest, I'm kind of ok with not having yellow lips.
Banana Sleep has the barest hint of a banana scent and has the teeniest amount of fine glitter running through it. And yet I love it. It's just a big colouredy bottle of yellow goodness that looks like a clear gloss on, but leaves my lips feeling nourished and hydrated.
Cloudy Candy has a faint cotton candy scent, has even fainter glitter than Banana Sleep, and I've been loving it!
This has a little bit of pigmentation when applied to my lips and to be honest, if it came out on my lips true to colour like in the bottle, I wouldn't be using it because it's not my shade at all. But this wash of light pink over the lips, I can totally deal with and the pink gets stronger the more layers I put on.
Now I am known to lick product off my lips and would estimate that my insides are about 42% lip balm, so I usually reapply these after an hour or so, or when I feel like getting up close and personal with the applicator. I think if they had a thicker, oilier consistency, they'd stay on longer, but I don't know if I'd like the feel of them on then.
The six new shades will launch in February and will be €22. I'm definitely going to try some of the original shades because some of them look like they've got more pigment and it'd be a sin not to pick one or four up wouldn't it?
