Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour review, photos!

Rimmel's Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours should actually be called Stay Matte, Stay Put for ages, thanks very much ok bye.  I don't think they'd fit all that on the tube though.  As a renowned lipgloss/moisturising lip product fiend, I wasn't expecting much from these guys and I'm pretty much on matte lip overload.  But ooooh I'm glad I tested them out!

I think most if not all matte liquid lip products promise that they won't dry out your lips and will stay put for 4.5 years while giving all the colour and all the impact am I right?  These guys also make the same claims along with being kiss proof (c'mere to me Aidan Turner and I'll put that to the test), touch proof (if anyone except for me touches my lips I'll go mad.  Except for Aidan obvs), and it says they won't fade or bleed.

Did they live up to the claims?  Well, as I have had no Aidan Turner to be kissing, I can't say if they're kiss proof, they're definitely touch proof, they don't bleed, the ones I tested out lasted for about 7 hours before I felt I had to take them off, and by the 7 hour mark, they'd faded from the centre of the lips, you know the wet inner part of your lips.

I took a notion one day to test out shade 110 Blush for the day over on Snapchat complete with time stamps and all.  It lasted through breakfast and lunch, a couple of cups of coffee and a bottle of water, without budging and after applying it at 7am, it was at about 2.30pm or so when I rubbed the rest of it off.  It didn't leave my lips feeling tight, and while they set in a minute or so, I was aware of my lips feeling dry, not overly so, but something I was conscious of, but that's coming from someone with mega dry lips.

Shall we look at swatches?

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 700 Be My Baby
Be My Baby is a true nude for my complexion and in real life it leans a bit lighter on me.  I think this shade made my lips look dehydrated and emphasised the lines in my lips, but still, I'd wear it out and about once I had a lip balm on hand.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 110 Blush
As I said above, Blush is the shade I tested out for the day and while it looks like a soft pink in the photo, on me in daylight it looks brighter.  I don't usually wear pinks like this, but everyone on Snapchat said they liked it on me!  It's a lovely easy to wear everyday shade.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 200 Pink Blink
I love Pink Blink!  I didn't think I would as much as I did but I love that it has a warm coral undertone to it.  This is definitely my favourite shade of the six and will be in rotation over the coming weeks.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 210 Rose Shine
Rose Shine is a grand mid toned pink shade, very unassuming and not one I'd usually reach for.  Still, the colour payoff is great and if rosey pinks are your jam, you'll like this one.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 500 Fire Starter
Fire Starter is crazily pigmented lads!  And because of that, it's a hard one to get a sharp line with because one false move and you'll have to correct your work!  But it's gorgeous, and while I haven't worn it outside the house yet, the fact that the couple of shades I have tested out for a day at a time stayed put, I'd be comfortable with this knowing that I'd have no messing with it.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour - 810 Plum This Show

Plum This Show was a bit of a let down and I'd such high hopes for it.  I love rich shades like this in the autumn, but on me, it was patchy and hard to work with.  I couldn't get an even layer with it and that's an aul shame.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours are on stands now and have been for over a month now, but they're fierce affordable at €7.95 each and are definitely worth checking out.  My picks are Fire Starter and Pink Blink and I'm hoping to get loads of wear out of them this autumn!
