I love autumn!

I know, summer is over but did it ever actually arrive?  I must say that as much as I love those "hot months", I do have a soft spot for autumn.  I love the feeling of cosy evenings, warm coats and scarves, cooler days and changing leaves.  I think it might just be my favourite time of the year.  There's so much that I love about this season, I thought it deserved it's own post and year after year, these are the things that make me happy from September until December!

I can't do it in the summer.  I'm all about cooler showers with blue shower gels to help me stay clean and fresh.  But in the chillier evenings, nothing makes me happier than running a bath with nice smelly things, slapping a hair mask and a face mask on and relaxing.  The maximum I can stay in said bath is about 30 minutes as I get bored.  But look at these bath bombs (€2.99) from Irish brand Pixy.  Are they not ca-ute?!  They smell lovely and I have donated one of them to my mam to see how she gets on.  As for Philosophy's Cinnamon buns 3 in 1 (€17.50), this makes me so happy.  It smells like one of those Christmassy lattes from Starbucks and is a warm and cosy scented product, perfect for evening baths.

Body butters!
In the summer I mostly stick to lotions as they're lighter and I don't have to wait for them to sink in.  If I'm roasting and it's humid, the last thing I want to do is feel like I've a heavy cream on me.  So now that it's getting back into the cooler evenings, I can slather myself in my favourite body butters again.  My favourite is this one from Bath and Body Works that my brother and his girlfriend got me last year and I wish they'd a Bath and Body Works here so I could stock up.

Fuzzy pyjamas!
One of the traditions in our house is to watch the X Factor live shows in the biggest, fleeciest pyjamas ever.  It all adds to the coziness and two years ago when we were in the depths of that snow, we went to Penneys and I bought these ones for me, Joanne and Mammy Girlie Bits.  Last year I bought us some plaid fleecey ones that weren't as fuzzy so this year I can't wait to go back to basics and get the thickest, fleeciest pjs so we can watch the X Factor and be all snuggley.  Penneys are the best for jammies.

As much as I appreciated Pretty Little Liars and True Blood getting me through the summer (and also season 1 of Revenge which I devoured over a long weekend), I do love my usual favourites coming back to get me from now until Christmas.  I know.  I'm sorry.  I said the C word.  I'm so happy that X Factor is back and am waiting impatiently for Vampire Diaries, Downton Abbey, Hart of Dixie, Revenge, Gossip Girl and Strictly Come Dancing.  I know, I'm very cerebral with the aul shows I love.

Make up!
I'm not sure if it's because I have greeny eyes, but I absolutely love rich coppers, bronzes, burgundy and deep purple shades at this time of year.  Also, I'm looking forward to darker evenings just for the simple fact is that I wear a lot of eye make up when going out at night.  However, I feel like an absolute drag queen going out in dramatic make up when it's bright and sunny, so roll on the slightly darker evenings when I can put all the make up on my face and not feel self conscious!
