Clarins Double Serum review

Ok.  Let me start off this post with three points.

1.  Usually when I receive something from Clarins to test out, I keep it until I review it and then dutifully pass it on to mam who loves all things Clarins and could probably open her own pop up shop at this point.

2.  I still have this in my possession and she doesn't know I have it because I can't part with it.

3. It's mother's day on the 10th of March so she'll be getting her own one because I know she'll love it so therefore this negates all possible guilt I have over withholding it.

Anyway, back to the review.  I've been testing out the latest version of the Clarins Double Serum for the last five weeks and have been wanting to blog about it after the first couple of weeks.  But when it comes to skincare reviews, I wait at least three weeks so I can give a full and frank review.

The two age-defying formulas, hydric and lipidic come in dual chambers which makes it sound very Indiana Jones altogether and when combined, make a groundbreaking serum that was 27 years in the making.  It promises to activate the skin's five vital functions; hydration, nutrition, oxygenation, regeneration and protection.  So basically it's claiming to make your skin firmer, minimize pores, even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  Don't mind if I do!

The pump dispenses a really small amount and you can see how the oil and water part separate until you rub your hands together.  I apply it the way I was taught by the Clarins team and that's by pressing my hands onto my face and not rubbing it in.  Despite the oil in it, it doesn't leave any greasy residue on my skin and it feels light on my face.

I have large pores on my face beside my nose and they're definitely less visible.  Overall, I see an improvement in the texture of my skin.  My skin tone is a lot more evened out and firm.  I don't have many wrinkles (thank you mammy girlie bits) but I do have an annoying frown line that I'm working on getting rid of, so I like to massage the serum into that and work it into the skin.  I'll report back at the end of the bottle to see if it makes any difference, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I've been using the Double Serum every morning and evening and I'm about a third of the way through the bottle so I'd say I'll get a good three to four months out of this.  It costs €69.50 so girlie maths time means that it'll work out in and around the €20 a month for something that really does work and for me, it's a worthy investment.

As I said before, Mother's Day is coming up and our mam will be getting this.  I know she'd never think of buying this for herself so this will be the perfect treat for her and I know she'll love it!

  1. I love Clarins, they have some very good products. Might get this for the mama for Mother's Day too! Great review xx

    1. Thanks lady, all of our mammies will look lovely after Mother's Day!

  2. I would love this for myself, because my skin is like the sahara with a few ridges in it, before I've even hit my twenties! My mum is allergic to almost everything so buying skincare for her is a big no-no unfortunately.

    1. Ah that's a shame about your mam, hopefully she finds stuff that works for her x
