Dr Hauschka Dear Eyes eyeshadow palette, photos, step by step tutorial

The Dear Eyes palette from Dr Hauschka is like a love letter to your eyes, so Karim Sattar says and I believe everything that man says!  This eyeshadow trio is housed in shiny rose gold compact which made me instantly sit up and take note.  To do it justice, I had to bring it to Spain with me for my on location photoshoot.

From the pretty packaging, to the huge mirror and generously sized shadows, this has fast become one of my favourite go to palettes for every day use.

Each shadow is soft, buttery and so easy to work with.  They contain fine silk powder along with witch hazel and black tea to help care for the skin around your eyes.  There's a sparkling nude, pearly rose and a matte chocolate shade, making it really versatile and the perfect travel palette.  You'll see what I mean below.

I've missed doing my step by step tutorials, so am back to show you two different looks you can do with this one wee palette.

1. Start by applying the rose shade in the crease like a good child.
2. Apply the sparkling nude to the brow bone, blending it into the rose shade.
3. Apply the matte brown shade to the eyelid and blend the edges.
4. Take the brown under the lower lashes to define the eye even more.
You could leave it at that for a natural look, but you know me, less is more is not part of my vocabulary.  More is more!

5. Apply the nude shade into the inner corner to draw more light to the eye.
6. Using an angled brush, apply the chocolate shade to the waterline.
7. With the same angled brush, apply more of the chocolate shade to the upper lash line to intensify the look.
8. Sit there with gorgeous eyes.

Now, if you want something a bit more natural, fear not, I got you covered.

1. Apply the rose shade to the inner half of your eyelid.
2. Apply the chocolate shade to the outer half of the eyelid.
3. Use the nude shade to highlight the brow bone again and blend the harsh edges.
4. Done.

Except you're not done.  You can mix the rose and nude shades and usse them on your cheeks.  When Karim did this on his model, the whole room made a big "Ooh" noise.  And I make my own "Ooh" noise when I do it on myself.  The mix of the two shades adds a touch of colour and highlight for  pretty, spring appropriate glow.

The Dear Eyes eyeshadow trio is €32.95 and available in selected health stores, pharmacies, Life Pharmacies, Avoca, Harvey Nichols and McCabes in Clerys.  For more information, visit
