Marie Reynolds Candle - Passion review and lots of photos!

Ok, you know I'm all about multitasking products; products that are other products.  Maybe it's from having to watch Transformers (robots in disguise) growing up.  'Twas my brother's favourite cartoon back in The Day.  Anyway, today I'm going to talk to you about one of the most intriguing products I've tried in a long time.  Let me set the scene.

Marie Reynolds has over 20 years of experience as a beauty therapist and she decided she wanted to create candles that could be incorporated into her treatments.  Thus her luxury massage candles were created and can be used as a room fragrance and as a massage oil!

Containing 100% Organic Soy Wax, Moroccan Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Essential Oils and therapeutic fragrances, this is decadence in candle form.  So yes, it's a candle.  Ooooh but it's so much more.  I know, I can hear you already ("What you talkin' about Willis?")

I was sent the scent Passion, the latest release in the collection.  It's got a fruity scent, thanks to the blackcurrant and has sparkling champagne in it too!  There's a subtle gold shimmer running through the candle, but I'll tell you about that in a minute.

When you first light the candle, the delicate blackcurrant scent fills the room.  The difference between a synthetic scent and a pure one is unbelievable and since trying candles like these, Yankee haven't gotten a look in!  It's subtle, refined and you know you have something special burning in front of you and if you're me, it'll hurt to burn it.  But no pain no gain eh?

The packaging advises that on the first burning, to let the candle burn so the the wax melts all the way to the glass.  The soy wax liquefies from a low melting point which allows you to use it directly on your skin.  You can either use a spoon or if you extinguish the flame and wait a couple of seconds, there's nothing scarier than watching yourself pour hot wax onto your arm!  But be not afraid, for it will not burn the arm off you.  All you need to do is rub the shimmery gold wax into your skin, leaving you with a subtly fraganced body that feels soft and smells good.

You can use it on the ends of your hair too, to give a bit of nourishment.  Or hows about adding some salt to the melted wax, to create your own body scrub?  If that's not enough, then let me tell you that pre-burn, you can use the wax as a lip balm and as a solid perfume.  And of course, as a good old fashioned massage oil.  I know!  Multifunctional or what!

You can buy Marie Reynolds London Candles on, but they don't stock Passion unfortunately.  If you want a night of Passion, then you can get it here on the Marie Reynolds London website where prices start at £5.50 and there's a flat shipping rate of £4.

You can also visit Yvonne Collins Beauty in Sandymount for a treatment using one of the candles and I think this is something I'll be trying myself very soon!

  1. Woah, a multifunctional candle! Brilliant idea! Knowing me the wax would be spill over the shop but I do like the idea of being able to use it as a solid perfume Not sure I'd try any of the post-heat things! Gorgeous photies Karen, really atmospheric x

  2. Oh my god I have to have that candle. Prices seem very reasonable. I don't really like Yankee Candles all that much, I think they are too dear for something that isn't even natural.

  3. nice information i like this beauty product

  4. Traditionally, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job to get real Twitter followers.
