Aromatherapy Associates review; Soothing Cleansing Balm, Orange Flower Mattifying Moisturiser, Refining Face Oil

Hmm I think I might have fallen in love with Aromatherapy Associates.  I'm a newbie to the brand, but after trialling out a few products recently from them, it's safe to say it's the start of a beautiful friendship!

Aromatherapy Associates have spent the last 30 years showing us that essential oils can have a powerful impact on our mental and physical wellbeing and that's a point I'm in 100% agreement with.  Without fail, I feel thoroughly pampered and relaxed after using these products and my skin loves them which is good in terms of how my skin looks and feels, but not good for my wallet!

I was delighted to be sent products that were tailored to my skin type (oily t-zone and normal cheeks that can be dry in the winter), so I was able to put these fully to the test.

The Soothing Cleansing Balm (€33.10) is the first cleansing balm I've tried that comes in a tube rather than a pot.  I've been using it to remove my make up, mascara and all, and also as a regular cleanser at the weekends.  It has a blend of omega oils, camomile, sweet almond oil and cactus stem extract which really does soothe my skin.  I'm telling you, I should record myself using this because I do make little noises of happiness when I'm massaging it over my face!  It comes with small muslin cloth that you can use to wipe it off with and what you're left with is smooth, clean, hydrated skin.  This is an absolute joy to use folks and if you're in the market for a cleansing balm, definitely check this one out.

Next up is the Orange Flower Mattifying Moisturiser (€46.90).  Ooh this stuff smells amazing.  I'm a huge fan of neroli as a scent but hadn't used it in skincare.  Turns out it optimises healthy skin renewal and along with key ingredients including Jojoba oil, Evening Primrose oil, ylang yang, aloe vera and rice extracts, this lightweight moisturiser hydrates and mattifies the skin.  I've been using it in the morning under my makeup and without a primer to see how it holds up and it works wonderfully at keeping shine away on my t-zone, but also keeping my cheeks nice and soft.

Finally is the Refining Face Oil (€40.80).  If there's one thing you should invest in as the days get colder, it's a face oil.  You'll thank me later.  But if you've oily skin, you can still use oils, I promise!  I've an oily t-zone and find that face oils help balance the oil production in my skin.  This refining face oil has healing lavender and rose which works with the balancing ylang yang and vitamin E, leaving my face feeling soft and hydrated.  I've been using it before bed time and the scent is absolutely gorgeous.  The lavender helps me relax before conking out and when I wake up, my visage is smooth as a baby's behind!

I've got my eyes on a couple of the masks and exfoliators to try out next, but for now, I'm seriously loving these products from Aromatherapy Associates.  You can buy online from BeautyBay or in Space NK.

Have you tried anything from the brand yet?  What do I need to try next?

    1. Sorry Felicity, I updated the post, I knew I'd forgotten something! You can buy them on BeautyBay or SpaceNK

  2. Ok as you know I know zero about beauty products but for some reason when I saw the link Joanne posted on facebook all I could see was the word moist in the picture. We all know how you love the word "Moist"

  3. I am in love with Aromatherapy Associates! Have loads of their bath oils, they are just perfect and really help me relax.

    1. I must try the bath oils next when it gets a bit colder and I start taking baths again!

  4. Do you think the essential oils in this would be too much for sensitive skin? Afraid to try it!

  5. They sound right up my tree! I totally agree about how oils can help balance oily skin - I have combination skin and started using the Boots Botanics Facial Oil last winter and it made a massive improvement on my skin! Definitely would like to try out others!
