My Favourite Five #15

This was the week where I recovered from Joanne's hen do!  I woke up each morning with a croaky voice and obviously didn't warm up the vocals before singing my heart out last Saturday night!

There's nowt like a Temptalia post to make me want to buy things and this week there are two things I want.  Both are lipsticks and both are gorgeous.  First up is Toying Around from MAC's Playland collection and it's a really bright coral pink shade that needs to be mine.... Secondly we have Mangrove from the Proenza Schouler collection and it's an orangey red shade that will be perfect for summer.  Hmm, I think I'm going to have to Back to Mac some stuff to get my paws on these...

After seeing Laura talking about this recently and now Adrienne, I think it's just a matter of time before I succumb to temptation and pick up this By Terry blush glaze.  Now if we're going for justifications, yes, it's expensive, but I'm pretty sure I've nothing like it in my collection and have never heard of a blush glaze before.  Therefore I must have it.

Emma can rock a red lip like nobody else and when she's wearing a feline flick, she turns into an uber glamazon!  I really need to try one of the NARs pencils immediately.  Check out her favourite five matte red lippies here and watch her famous pout in action!

Don't you hate it when you've read lots of fantastic reviews on a new product, only to go out and buy it, ready to let the hype wash all over you?  Then you try it and it's crap.  FML.  Yavenna has listed her hyped products that she didn't like here, so go forth and see if anyone has listed any of your product disappointments!

Something a little different this week for my final favourite.  Instead of a YouTuber, I'm featuring a non beauty blog!  Bloglovin is my favourite way to track the blogs I follow and is a great way of stumbling across new ones.  It's like Pinterest for blogs and one of my favourites is  Oh I want to make all of the things on here, especially this Chicken and Asparagus Lemon Stir Fry....  I'm starving just looking at it!  Go and have a browse around and you'll come away inspired, guaranteed.

  1. Goddamn you, now I want that bloddy £38 blush. I wonder could I tell the Revenue that I'm blogging "professionally" and claim back VAT on all my makeup purchases... Oh the things we think of doing to get our fix. I'll be going robbing next!

  2. Karen - the Proenza stuff is really good, esp Mangrove.

Kat - yup, you can. Keep receipts and if you're using it for blogging purposes it's a taxable biz expense. used to keep all the receipts from makeup purchases when I was freelance because I was buying them for blogging reasons and then use them for my end of year tax return. Journalists are able to do this with all their mag/books/media purchases, so hey, why not?

  3. Why thank you kindly for mentioning my post, products that I wasted my money on make me an angry girl:)
