Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser review

Now that it's summer, I'm obsessed with all things citrus and when the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser arrived recently, I couldn't wait to get stuck in and get it on my face.

I'm a big fan of squeezy tube packaging because most of my cleansers end up around the shower and this makes for an easy life.

But it's what's inside that counts isn't it?  Now, not only does it smell amazing thanks to the essential oil blend of grapefruit, lemon and spearmint, but it's a multifunctional product that cleanses and exfoliates the skin while removing all traces of makeup.  This makes justifying a purchase that much easier because you can be all smug and say "Well it does 3 things in one, so shadappaya face" to whoever might try to talk you out of it.

Inside is a clear gel base with lots of teeny tiny scrubby things and when I apply it onto my skin, the scrubby bits feel like the ones from Origins' Modern Friction, there's just less of them.  I like to apply it to wet skin and massage it all over my face, avoiding the eyes as I'd like to be able to see things with them thank you.  Once I feel that I've done enough scrubbing, I wet my hands some more and then apply the extra water to the scrub, turning it into a milky cleanser that is also a scrub that is also a make up remover.  Now that we're talking about multi functionality, wouldn't this be a grand thing to take away with you on holidays?  Decant some in to a bottle and there you go.

The Panax Ginsing and caffeine in the cleanser brightens and refreshes my skin and after I've dried my face, it's left feeling nice and soft, smooth and clean.  It doesn't feel tight or strip my skin and in a nutshell, I love it.  It's abrasive enough to get rid of any dry patches and dead skin on my face, but gentle enough for me to use every morning and the reason why I use it first thing is the scent.  Bright, citrusy scents like this were made to help wake people like me up in the morning.  Having smooth, clean, refreshed skin is just a happy added extra for me!

And now that the weather is getting warmer, I'm going to start using the rest of my Origins GinZing Energy-boosing moisturiser again because again, the scent, the things it does to my face is just too much to ignore in the summer!

The Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser is €25 and is on counters this month.  Lurve it!
