L’Occitane The Art of Soap Collection

On my trips to Provence a couple of years ago, I was blown away by the soap industry, with many shops full to the brim of them.  I wish I’d bought more when I was there, but all the more reason to go back!  L’Occitane’s Art of Soap collection has me yearning for the little side streets of Provence and a renewed appreciation for the traditional soap making techniques that they use.

L’Occitane sent me some soaps from the collection and I’m in love!  All of the soaps are vegan and come “naked” aka without packaging, or wrapped in recycled and recyclable paper.  I love the idea of buying something like this sans packaging and when you use it up, it’s gone.  There’s no need to get rid of a bottle or anything.  So from an environmental point of view, these are a fantastic addition to the household.

L’Occitane Art of Soap Bonne Mère

The smaller soaps in the photo are part of the Bonne Mère Collection and are delicately scented.  They’re €6.50 each and there are four in the collection.  Pictured below are Lemon & Tangerine, Linden & Sweet Orange and Rhubarb & Basil and are crafted with olive oil from Provence.  The fourth scent is Rosemary & Clary Sage.   This trio puts an instant smile on my face and remind me of my fancy paper and soap collecting times from back in the day!  Scents like these add a modern twist to the soap making tradition.

L’Occitane Art of Soap Bonne Mère Extra Pur

For those who want a more understated soap at home, the Bonne Mère Extra Pur soap is the one for you.  It’s dye-free, fragrance-free and has that traditional square block shape.  Whereas I’d probably just use the scented soaps on my hands, the Extra Pur version can be used on the face, hands, body and even clothing.  It comes in this 300g block for €10, or 100g like the scented versions above for €6.50.

While showing you the other soaps, I also wanted to highlight the 2-in-1 Scrubbing Soaps from “L’Occitane because they’ve gotten a makeover.  Now they have massaging nodules and exfoliating almond shells too.  While creating a spa at home is at an all time high, having a soap like this amps up your self care!  This Almond 2-in-1 Exfoliating Soap cleanses and exfoliates the skin gently, leaving it soft and supple.  There’s also a Shea version and both are €12.

The Art of Soap Collection from L’Occitane is available online now! Will you be picking any up?
