I don’t think I’ve ever come across a primer that I’d happily wear on its own. Enter the Lisa & Co Cosmetics Anti-Redness Primer.
This is said to reduce redness and discolouration in the skin, calm irritated skin, and give it a smooth, even finish. With ingredients including Centella Asiatica to soothe and calm the skin, Niacinamide to help calm inflammation and reduce redness, and Prebiotic Chlorella Vulgaris, which has soothing, calming properties, it’s a true skincare/makeup hybrid product.
I love the fact that so many brands are packing their products full of skincare ingredients because any time we put something onto our skin, it’s an opportunity to get extra skincare benefits.
Over the years, I’ve tried numerous primers that promise to reduce redness in my skin. And they do. But they also leave me with a green tinge on the skin. Now, in fairness, the green hue disappears once I apply foundation, but it prevents me from using the product on its own. And I like to get the most out of my products!
The Lisa & Co Cosmetics Anti-Redness Primer goes onto the skin green, no surprise there, but as I blend it out over my skin using my fingers, it transforms into the most perfect match for my complexion. It’s like a lightweight base all by itself.

It evens out my complexion, reduces my redness, and it ends up looking like my skin. It doesn’t completely eliminate the redness, but it doesn’t claim to do so. They recommend applying your foundation over the top for a perfect finish. However, I haven’t bothered with that while I’ve been testing it out. I still look like me, if I had no redness and wasn’t wearing makeup. This is what I’d love for my skin to look like on makeup-free days.
It gives my skin a radiant, natural finish and feels really lightweight. It doesn’t dry down fully; instead, it feels like I’m just wearing a moisturiser or a dewy foundation.

It has a light scent that I can only really get when I apply it to the back of my hand and smell it that way. I can’t smell it that much when I apply it to my face. I think those with rosacea-prone skin would love the coverage and skincare benefits of the Anti-Redness primer, and as fragrance can be a trigger of rosacea, a fragrance-free version would be brilliant. I truly believe this product has the potential to become a go-to for sensitive, rosacea-prone skin!
The primer has now entered my product collection, and lads, I’m not usually a big primer person! But the natural, even, radiant coverage that this gives me, combined with the skincare benefits I know my skin loves, has captured my heart and my red little visage!
