Did I need the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation? Not even a bit. But I was ordering something else from Cult Beauty and thought it was the perfect opportunity! Absolutely! If you can’t treat yourself during lockdown, when can you? And I’d had it on my wish list for a few months, so sometimes, it just has to be done… I’m always on the lookout for foundations that give decent coverage, that look flawless on and that last all day. Say hello to this beaut!
I spent a good while trying to research swatches of Natural Radiant Longwear online, knowing I was nowhere near the Stromboli shade that most people seem to go for! I very rarely wear fake tan, and after a lot of googling and researching, I decided that the shade Deauville would be a good match for me. It’s slightly yellow toned which I like, as I have redness in my skin and the yellow counteracts that. Deauville sits beautifully and evenly on my skin and the medium to high coverage does a stellar job at covering my redness. I love that despite giving whopper coverage, it doesn’t look heavy or cakey on my skin, and has a natural yet radiant finish.
The pump dispenses the tiniest amount, and I’m not going to lie, the first time I used it, I applied a good 3-4 pumps on the back of my hand and got stuck in. Big mistake. Huge. I used way too much and it emphasised everything – pores, fine lines, you name it! So a little goes a long way as it’s incredibly pigmented!
I’ve found it works well with my usual foundation brushes and sponges and I don’t need to spend ages blending it out. Because of my oily t-zone, I still like to powder my nose, the areas either side of my cheeks, chin and forehead and I find it stays put all day. Now for a fuller picture, my review is being carried out towards the end of lockdown where life hasn’t gone back to normal just yet. When I’m out and about more, I’ll be able to fully say how it stands up against day to day life, but I think this is a keeper gals! I can report that when I apply this when working from home, it still looks flawless at the end of a busy day on the laptop!
I love how this doesn’t look or feel heavy on my skin and I think those with dry skin will enjoy this too because it’s not drying on me and feels super lightweight on too. If you’re on the hunt for a beautiful base that gives great coverage and stays put all day while looking natural, then definitely check out the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation!
Another one of my favourite long wear foundations is Estee Lauder Double Wear and I must do a newer review because this one is from 2014! Since then I’ve bought a few more bottles and still love it loads! If you’re looking for something totally different, then my review on the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint is worth reading. This is sheer, lightweight and evens out the complexion easily. It’s ideal for the no makeup makeup days!
